04Reversible-Stacked Flywheel Storage System

The principle of the flywheel energy storage system involves using externally supplied electrical energy to drive a motor, which in turn rotates the flywheel, storing energy in the form of rotational kinetic energy. When energy is released, the flywheel drives a generator that converts the rotational kinetic energy back into electrical energy for output.
Traditional flywheels use a single magnetic disk with a single motor, resulting in the flywheel occupying a significant amount of space. This design uses a stackable modular cavity, with the energy storage disk controlled by a controller, saving considerable space and cost.
Because the flywheel cannot charge and discharge simultaneously, all the stored energy is released at once during discharge. To solve this problem, this system adopts a complementary architecture to address the issue of simultaneous charging and discharging.
